North Carolina Transportation Museum in Spencer, NC was the attraction for the day.

Rail buffs appreciated the appearance of the Norfolk & Western 611, a famous rebuild of a unique and rare steam locomotive, usually housed in Roanoke VA. The museum preserves many interesting buildings from the steam era, along with countless trains, autos and some aviation equipment. There are sometimes interesting photo ops at places like this.

The Sweet Meadows Cafe in Salisbury, NC

The photo is of a piece of wall art in this lovely, friendly and clean restaurant on the main business street in Salisbury. Menu, enticing; food, delicious; service, good, attentive and friendly. With a bar, no less. Welcome, after a long hot morning at a museum in a nearby town.

admires and blesses the infant of one of his flock....

cherishes the sunshine on the old brick wall ( no, that's me)

... is glad the store is still vibrant...

or could it be William Faulkner?? (no, it's Mitford)
