Random shots from Charlotte, NC...
...I mentioned there were few older buildings in downtown Charlotte, due to extensive urban renovation in the 1980's. Apparently, much of the older city was not worth saving, since the city was a "cotton town" in the 19th century. That means lots of ratty industrial warehouses and plenty of sub-standard housing. Just a few examples of each remain in the downtown that gleams with new glass buildings.
